IMPORTANT MEETING INFORMATION

CANCELLATION AND NO SHOW POLICY

We look forward to welcoming you to our monthly meetings and understand that unforeseen issues may sometimes prevent attendance.

To ensure the Society can effectively manage costs, particularly those related to catering, the Board of Directors has unanimously implemented a No-Show Policy. Food and beverage costs have increased significantly each year, and the Society incurs substantial expenses for each member attending the meetings. We are also charged for registrants who do not attend.

POLICY DETAILS

Cancellation Window

  • If you are registered for a meeting and are unable to attend, please notify Nadine Popovich to cancel your registration.
  • Cancellations must be made at least 5 days prior to the meeting date to avoid incurring costs for your meal.

No-Show Fee ($50)

  • If you do not attend the meeting without prior cancellation, a $50 charge may be applied to cover the incurred costs.
  • Nadine Popovich will contact you via email to discuss any no-show charges.

Thank you for your cooperation in registering timely and canceling your reservation if you cannot attend. This helps us manage resources efficiently and continue offering high-quality events.

GUEST POLICY

To support professional engagement and maintain the educational integrity of our programs, the Pittsburgh Ophthalmology Society welcomes the following guests to attend monthly meetings

  •  Physicians who have never been members of POS, or whose membership has lapsed for more than two years, may attend one monthly meeting free of charge.
  •  Medical students and physician colleagues of current members are welcome to attend as guests and are subject to a $60 guest fee.

POS limits guest attendance to medical students and licensed physicians to foster a collegial environment for shared learning among professionals actively engaged in or entering the practice of medicine. The policy was approved by the POS Board of Directors at their February 2025 meeting.

For registration assistance, please contact Ms. Nadine Popovich at npopovich@acms.org
