Pittsburgh Ophthalmology Society Bylaws

The Pittsburgh Ophthalmology Society Bylaws provide the foundation for the Society’s governance and operations.

They outline the responsibilities of the Board of Directors and officers, membership provisions, meeting and voting procedures, committee structure, and the process for amending the bylaws.

Together, these provisions help ensure that the Society operates consistently, transparently, and in support of its mission and members.

Proposed 2026 Bylaws Amendments

The POS Bylaws Committee recently completed a comprehensive review of the Society’s bylaws. The committee was chaired by Michael Azar, MD, with committee members Pamela P. Rath, MD, and Marshall Stafford, MD.

The POS Board of Directors has reviewed and approved the committee’s recommendations for submission to the membership. Each proposed amendment includes a brief summary and rationale to assist members in their review.
